Andy Juanico

Andy Juanico (born 1954) is a respected Native American artist from Acoma Pueblo, New Mexico. While he began making art professionally around the age of 30, he has become well-known for his distinct creative vision and dedication to traditional craftsmanship. Drawing inspiration from his profound cultural heritage and his own boundless imagination, Juanico creates a wide array of handcrafted works, ranging from ceremonial fans and dance sticks to finely painted traditional pottery.

Coming from a family of talented artisans—including his brother, Marcus Garcia, and sister-in-law, Virginia Garcia, who are also recognized potters—Juanico is deeply rooted in the artistic traditions of Acoma. His ceramic work beautifully showcases the classic thin-walled construction and complex, fine-line geometric painting that make Acoma pottery some of the most technically refined and highly prized in the Native American art world. Today, his authentic, hand-coiled pieces are sought after by collectors who appreciate his beautiful blend of ancestral techniques and personal artistic expression.
