D & J Clark is a hallmark of Navajo jewelry, representing the sterling silver creations of Delbert Clark and his wife, Janette Clark. Delbert, the youngest of eleven children, was born in Klagetoh, Arizona. He learned the craft of silversmithing from his brothers-in-law, Leroy and David Reeves, and is part of the larger Willie family of silversmiths, which includes his father, Ronnie Willie, and his son, Lonnie Willie. Delbert’s personal hallmark is “D. Clark.”
Janette also plays an integral role in the jewelry design process, and together, they create pieces featuring traditional Navajo motifs and fine materials. Their work is highly respected in the Southwestern United States and is highly sought after by collectors and aficionados of Native American jewelry.
The “D & J Clark” hallmark is typically etched in script on their sterling silver pieces, which often showcase turquoise and coral stones.
