Loren Wallowing Bull, born in April of 1988, hails from a lineage steeped in the rich tradition of Jemez pottery. Raised by Linda Lucero Fragua and Phillip Fragua, Loren’s journey into the world of clay began at a tender age, under the tutelage of his mother, Felicia Curley. Growing up alongside siblings Chrislyn, Amy, Anissa, and Clifford, Loren’s affinity for claywork is deeply ingrained in his family heritage.
Loren’s artistic prowess has garnered recognition at prestigious venues such as the Heard Museum in Phoenix, the Eight Northern Pueblos Arts and Crafts Show, the Tucson Art Museum, and the renowned Santa Fe Indian Market. His accolades include First Place ribbons in the Youth Pottery Division at Santa Fe and the Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Arts and Crafts Show.
Drawing inspiration from his familial roots, Loren finds joy in crafting pottery that pays homage to his heritage. His creations, ranging from majestic eagles to evocative storyteller figures and nativity scenes, reflect his reverence for tradition while pushing the boundaries of style. Loren’s innovative spirit shines through in his unique creations, such as his sought-after eagle nacimientos, which have captivated art enthusiasts with their originality and charm.
