She is supported by her daughter, Melinda Garcia, and son-in-law Irvin Lucero, with her other daughter, Frances Lucero, also continuing the pottery tradition in Jemez.

Pueblo

The Santo Domingo Pueblo, located in northern New Mexico, is known for its rich cultural heritage and artistry, particularly its pottery. The Pueblo, also called Kewa, has a long tradition of pottery-making that dates back over a thousand years. Santo Domingo pottery is renowned for its distinctive style, featuring intricate geometric designs and vibrant, contrasting colors, often created using natural pigments. Artists traditionally use local clay, which is hand-coiled and carefully fired in outdoor kilns.
