About Tohono O'odham (Papago) Baskets
Tohono O’odham (People of the Desert) reside in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona and Mexico. These beautiful Papago baskets were mostly utilitarian in nature, used for collecting and carrying food, water, and firewood. Handmade, using Native plants, these baskets are weaved using the natural colors of the desert plants they are created from.
